Code of ethics

We adhere to a code of ethics that is in line with those of the three main French professional coaching associations: EMCC France (European Mentoring and Coaching Council), ICF (International Coach Federation) and SF Coach (Société Française de Coaching).

Coaching Approach

A coaching approach is initiated on the basis of a time-limited coaching of individuals and teams to develop their vocal potential, their know-how and soft skills within the framework of professional objectives.

Confidentiality

The coach of an individual or a team must keep strictly confidential all information about the coaching they provide: person being coached, team being coached, objective of the coaching, content of the sessions and meetings. They must not disclose any information on the subject.

Self-Work and Supervision

The coach constantly works to improve their practice and be in the best possible position to carry out their profession. In particular, they must undertake a personal journey of self-knowledge and awareness of the specificities of their way of relating to others. On the other hand, they have a place of supervision to take a step back from their coaching practice and use it regularly.

Respect for the Coachee

The coach must refrain from using their influence on the coachee in an inappropriate way: their role is not to be a "thought master". They must ensure that the coaching remains within the framework initially set with the coachee. The coach must be able, if the coachee wishes, to explain the process and the tools they are using.

Respect for the Coach

The coachee is co-responsible for the coaching process. They must in particular:

  • Respect the framework of the interviews (presence, punctuality). They can only postpone an interview under the conditions agreed with the coach at the beginning of the process.

  • Be actively involved in the process, not only during the interviews, but also throughout their professional life.

Development of Autonomy

The aim of coaching is for the coachee to develop their autonomy so that they are able to continue their journey once the coaching is over. Consequently, the role of the coach is to help them develop their ability to find the solutions that suit them, and not to provide answers, nor to decide or act in their place. In this spirit, the duration of the coaching is set at the start of the process and extensions should remain exceptional.

Refusal of Coaching

The coach may refuse to take on a coaching assignment for reasons specific to the organization they work for, the client or themselves. In this case, the coach will recommend one of their colleagues.

Coaching Location

The coach is attentive to the meaning and effects of the coaching session location. Coaching sessions take place outside of the client's premises.

Protection of Organizations

The coach must be attentive to the profession, practices, culture, context and constraints of the coaching client's organization.
